MX Fluxbox Screenshots

#1 Post by JayM »

Playing with MX Fluxbox inside a VirtualBox VM today:

Unfortunately I only have a 1280x1020 monitor so things kind of overlap a bit, but you get the general idea. Solid color background, one of the antiX themes for the menus and the bar, and a conky that autostarts with transparency thanks to the compton compositor autostarting as well. Also the panel thingie was moved to the bottom and extended to 100% length. I changed the terminal from the dropdown one to the regular windowed version too.

Sorry, PPC, but if you are using skidoo's fluxbox version, then this is not a screenshot of MX Fluxbox and really does not belong in this thread. I moved it to the regular MX-19 Screenshots.

No problem... I've been playing with idesk to get something very close to toolbar quick start icons, that I already posted on "MX-Fluxbox v 1.2" Thread, including a how-to...

Off-topic- A suggestion:
If I may be so bold, my "idea" works even better, out of the box with your original FB layout with the toolbar on top. Just put the icons for the most used apps (Menu, Browser, File Manager and Terminal) on the same X coordinates, so the user just sees the much needed quick-launch icons, and the toolbar... no need for docks, unless the user wants a gui way to add more icons...

oops! OK, I need some help. I am trying to participate in this thread but I've never added a picture to the forum before. I managed a screen capture and saved it. But when I try to drag and drop it I get an error saying it is too large. Where do I learn what the limits for pictures are? I will go to the Wiki I guess? Or is there a forum specific help file? Sorry, I'm so text oriented that when pictures and video get involved I get lost!

Edit: I think I found where to read up on this. I'll be back. Is there a "trial" section of the forum where we can practice attachments, etc. without cluttering the board? Off to here:

How did you other's get the picture to show so big and in line?

Anyway, on my MX-Fluxbox it is only slightly modified from the default. I moved the toolbar to the bottom and expanded to 100%. Then I added the RootMenu indicator. I may make the changes outlined by PPC but for now I am satisfied with this. Nothing fancy here.

Max picture requirements are 300Kib and 640x620 dimensions. To attach an image: at the bottom of the post block click on attachments, then add files. To not consume database space use an image hosting service.
WE increased from 600x600. I need to edit the requirements.
