It should be set (enabled) by default. Just tried on my laptop's keyboard and on the external (Logitech something).

You can try to right click on the Start menu and select "Configure..." and then "Keyboard Shortcuts"

I've tried it but unfortunately didn't give any reaction to the button.

Was it always like that or began later? What if you create a new user and try there ? (Or what about on live session? )

If there're no such lines in ~/.config/kwinrc

add:

Code: Select all

[ModifierOnlyShortcuts]
Meta=org.kde.plasmashell,/PlasmaShell,org.kde.PlasmaShell,activateLauncherMenu

qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin reconfigure

Also: Assign Alt+F1 in Keyboard Shortcuts

It was always like this, also;

Code: Select all

xxxxxxx@mx:~
$ ~/.config/kwinrc
bash: /home/xxxxxxx/.config/kwinrc: Erişim engellendi
xxxxxxx@mx:~
$ sudo su
root@mx:/home/xxxxxxx# ~/.config/kwinrc
bash: /root/.config/kwinrc: Böyle bir dosya ya da dizin yok
root@mx:/home/xxxxxxx# [ModifierOnlyShortcuts]
Meta=org.kde.plasmashell,/PlasmaShell,org.kde.PlasmaShell,activateLauncherMenu

qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin reconfigure
[ModifierOnlyShortcuts]: command not found
Service 'org.kde.KWin' does not exist.
root@mx:/home/xxxxxxx# [ModifierOnlyShortcuts]
Meta=org.kde.plasmashell,/PlasmaShell,org.kde.PlasmaShell,activateLauncherMenu

qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin reconfigure
[ModifierOnlyShortcuts]: command not found

root@mx:/home/xxxxxxx#

I do not know how can I try to establish live session btw. I'll try other option as soon as possible.

Thank you very much pal, after the assignment of Alt+F1, I tried to reassign start button and fortunately it worked.

Good to hear that. In fact, I meant to add that in a text editor, not in a terminal :)

Also check the ownership of the file, I hope it wasn't changed to root.

... Alternatively, using the terminal:

Code: Select all

kwriteconfig5 --file ~/.config/kwinrc --group ModifierOnlyShortcuts --key Meta "org.kde.plasmashell,/PlasmaShell,org.kde.PlasmaShell,activateLauncherMenu"
qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin reconfigure

( Just as user, no root, no sudo su etc. )
