Where are the MX-19 repos/list to edit?.

#1 Post by keos »

Hello,

I don't get MX-19 repositories even through the terminal:

Code: Select all

keos@keos:~
$ sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d/
[sudo] password for keos:
keos@keos:~
$ sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list
keos@keos:~
$
*They are empty ...

And for Synaptic only debian repos:

Code: Select all

http://deb.debian.org/debian/
http://deb.debian.org/debian-security/
What did I miss or where are the MX-19 repos?

Code: Select all

keos@keos:~
$ uname -a
Linux keos 4.19.0-18-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.19.208-1 (2021-09-29) x86_64 GNU/Linux
keos@keos:~
$

Thank you.

sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d/
That's a folder you cannot open it with nano, you can list files with ls "ls /etc/apt/sources.list.d"

Also, check MX Repo Manager, that might help.

While you're at it:

Select one of these in MX Repos tab (assuming you're in USA)

United States, Los Angeles CA - http://la.mxrepo.com
United States, Salt Lake City UT - http://mxrepo.com

Also you can click "select fastest Debian repo ..." button in Debian Repos tab

... Or if there's a problem: "Restore Original Apt Sources" in the last tab ....

sorry, what i means is where are in the sources.list, or there is not sources.list?
the 'ls /etc/apt/sources.list.d' is not taken me to any place where i can see the sources.list.

EDIT: Maybe i should said the 'apt sources configuration file', in a terminal, if i want to change/add any repo how do i have to do this?

Here's mine on MX 19 at the moment:

Code: Select all

$ cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mx.list
# MX Community Main and Test Repos
deb http://it.mxrepo.com/mx/repo/ buster main non-free
#deb http://it.mxrepo.com/mx/testrepo/ buster test

#ahs hardware stack repo

sources.list.d is a directory (as Adrian said above) not a file.

And you have these files in it:

brave-browser-release.list mx.list wine-obs.list debian.list ...

So, do as I did:

Code: Select all

cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mx.list
It won't display something like 19 or MX 19 .. just "buster" etc...

So if i want to add a repo the only think i have to do it is to add the new repo line into this 'output'? -- sorry but this is new to me ... thanks.
