MX-19 Repository: The Cozy - Audiobook Player Thread

Cozy 0.8.1 +git from 20210203 is now in the Test Repository for MX-19.

Please do not enable any repos to install this. You should be able to find and install it using the MX Test Repo tab in MX Package Installer.

Cozy is a modern audiobook player for Linux.

It was requested by one of our users, it is clean and functional, I enjoyed testing it.

Features:
  • Import your audiobooks into Cozy to browse them comfortably
  • Sort your audio books by author, reader & name
  • Remembers your playback position
  • Sleep timer
  • Playback speed control
  • Search your library
  • Offline Mode! This allows you to keep an audio book on your internal storage if you store your audiobooks on an external or network drive. Perfect for listening on the go!
  • Add mulitple storage locations
  • Drag & Drop to import new audio books
  • Support for DRM free mp3, m4a (aac, ALAC, …), flac, ogg, opus, wav files
  • Mpris integration (Media keys & playback info for desktop environment)
Cozy is on Transifex, where anyone can contribute and translate. If you use Cozy and can help, please do so.

Please let us know if you run into any issues using it or don't, this way it can get moved to the Stable Repo if possible.

just the one issue that i reported to the cozy dev but other than that, works very well and i use it every night

they have just released a new version

Yes I am tracking that, I’ll be getting to it in due time.
I spoke with the developer myself to get the fact that this is packaged for MX included in the GitHub README because he lists distros it is packaged for, which is also why I created this thread because he asked where users could find info on the packaging for MX.

  • Updates with this version:
  • A new icon! Thanks jimmac :)
  • Refined headerbar
  • A click on the cover image in the headerbar opens the book detail view
  • Book detail view: Pressing the back button on the mouse brings you back to the library
  • Fix: Aborting the download of a book is now handled more gracefully
  • Fix: Opening a book using the return key now works as expected
  • As always, updated translations thanks to all of the translators!
  • Hotfix: Custom icons where not detected

Cozy has been updated to 0.9.2

Cozy has been updated to 0.9.3+git20210424

There is an issue building 0.9.4 as some foundational changes occurred, I have to mess with it some more. But this version is only a few commits behind 0.9.4.
