sudo apt-get install lsb
[sudo] password for jbander:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package lsb is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package 'lsb' has no installation candidate

Debian dropped those packages with the buster series.

You will need to file a bug report with epson since they appear to no longer support debian.

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

hmm..., the lsb package (or the alternative lsb-compat ) as mentioned is not available in debian 10/buster.
otoh, I've played a bit with "forward"-porting the lsb-compat from debian 9/stretch.
For test I've installed the packages from epson:

Code: Select all

epson-inkjet-printer-escpr_1.7.7-1lsb3.2_amd64.deb
epson-printer-utility_1.1.0-1lsb3.2_amd64.deb
which made the epson printer available:
Epson WF-2630.png
Find attached the forward-patched lsb-compat package, and let us know if the printer works... :snail:
:puppy:

hmm, it works here, as described above. So, tell us the steps you have done, might be we find the show stopper.

I've tried to take the drivers from Epson and also from two other sources/ . I've tried to take the LSB From synaptic and your lsb-compat tar that you put in your response , I don't know but with tars when they are opened they have to be put someplace , is there a special place you have to put it so the driver package can find it.

Please let us know what exact drivers you downloaded ( the extact file name , please) from Epson. and from other "source", and what you have down with those files.
In addtion: The attached tar file need to be downloaded. E.g. into the Download folder as
lsb-compat_10.20200127_amd64.deb.tar.
Now Right Click from Thunar file manager and "Extract here" and you shall find a new deb-file:
lsb-compat_10.20200127_amd64.deb
Now rightclick on the deb-file and choose "install deb-file",
or alternatively open Terminal with the Download folder and install the deb this way:

Code: Select all

sudo apt ./lsb-compat_10.20200127_amd64.deb
(Note the "./" in front of the deb-file, which means install from currenty path.)
After having installed the lsb-compat deb, you shall be able to tinstall the oringal Espon deb-files.
But please let us know what exact file you have downloaded.
I have downloaded from Epson those two files, having searched for your printer "Epson WF-2630"

Code: Select all

epson-inkjet-printer-escpr_1.7.7-1lsb3.2_amd64.deb
epson-printer-utility_1.1.0-1lsb3.2_amd64.deb
and after having installed the "forwarde-ported" lsb-compat, I have installed the two Epson deb-files.
Here how I have tested having files with the same folder.
Open terminal:

Code: Select all

sudo apt update
sudo apt install ./lsb-compat_10.20200127_amd64.deb
sudo apt install ./epson-inkjet-printer-escpr_1.7.7-1lsb3.2_amd64.deb
sudo apt install ./epson-printer-utility_1.1.0-1lsb3.2_amd64.deb
Now open from the Menu "Printer Settings",
and you shall find Epson entry, When you "Choose Drive" navigate to Epson and scroll down the long list to "WF-2630".
+++ EDIT:+++
When you click add new printer, it always try to search for the printer-driver from the local database, if that fails simply do select the Epson-driver manually, by scroling down the long list.
Or for and existing Printer right click -> Properties -> Change Make & Model and select manually the Epson driver.

/home/jbander/epson-inkjet-printer-escpr-1.7.7 file
/home/jbander/lsb-compat_10.20200127_amd64.deb
/home/jbander/epson-printer-utility_1.1.0-1lsb3.2_amd64.deb

When I try to load the /home/jbander/epson-printer-utility_1.1.0-1lsb3.2_amd64.deb I get

Reading package lists... Error!
E: Sub-process Popen returned an error code (2)
E: Encountered a section with no Package: header
E: Problem with MergeList /home/jbander/epson-printer-utility_1.1.0-1lsb3.2_amd64.deb
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.

It looks like I have the lsb-compat drivers loaded
