MX 17 Repository: The 0 A.D. (0ad) Thread

#1 Post by Stevo » Sat May 19, 2018 7:20 pm

We now have the latest 0.0.23 “Ken Wood” alpha release of this early civilization simulation game in the test repository.
0 A.D. is a free and open-source, real-time strategy game under development by Wildfire Games. It is a historical war and economy game focusing on the years between 500 B.C. and 1 B.C. for the first part, and a planned second part for the years A.D. 1 to A.D. 500.[1][2] The game is cross-platform, playable on Windows, OS X, Linux, and OpenBSD.[3] It aims to be entirely free and open-source, using the GPLv2+ license for the game engine and CC BY-SA for the game art.

Let us know how it installs and plays if you decide to give it a try. Thanks!

P.S. Am trying to get MX 15/16 packages out. That needed a backport of Boost1.57 first.

Will it run on Intel graphics, and if so, how rudimentary?

Something is certainly rudimentary with the wind direction on the river. Two boats sailing off the wind but in opposite directions
Homebrew64 bit Intel duo core 2 GB RAM, 120 GB Kingston SSD, Seagate1TB.
Primary OS : MX-17.1 64bit. Also MX17, Kubuntu14.04 & Puppy 6.3.

Obviously the pyramid's Atlantean energy collection crystals and distribution beams are causing the wind to blow in different directions on opposite sides of the river, as planned to make transport more efficient. Duh!

It's running on my Intel 520 graphics, and has on lower Intel hardware in older versions, though you may have to lower graphics settings.

Since stretch-backports has the same version, and since MXPI makes installing that version easy, we've decided to pull it from our own repo to free up space and save bandwidth. We'll add newer versions if they become available.
