honestly not sure, but the 64 bit has an "m" as well.

I've only tried 2, but I can't make a 32 bit encrypted usb with a 4.19 kernel, yet.

building a 64 bit encrypted usb seems to work fine with our kernel (confirming richb's post)
same story with the 4.18 kernel. 32 bit kernel from alpha 1
same with antiX-4.19.7 kernel (on antiX).
I know the 4.9 antiX kernel does work.

ok, got some successs.

we need to add "xts" to the copy_initrd_modules in build-iso, and I assume snapshot as well. I just booted up a default mx18b1 32bit iso this way.

Code: Select all

CRYPT_LIST="
aes
blowfish
dm-crypt
dm-mod
serpent
sha256
xts
"

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

I thought the same. You beat me to it. I'll need to add it to cli-shell-utils as well.

Your comment earlier about the kernel config parameter was the key

BTW we have copy_initrd_modules and copy-initrd-programs in cli-shell-utils (usr/local/lib/cli-shell-utils/bin) which is a depencency of live-usb-maker so we don't need copy_initrd_modules and copy-initrd-programs in snapshot. But, that probably means some editing of the snapshot app since that app puts copy_initrd_modules and copy-initrd-programs in /usr/sbin

I can update those after a quick review (that's one reason MX Snapshot includes the scripts by itself to give me an opportunity to review how the changes affect the tool), but I don't see the new cli-shell-utils in the repo yet.

Is now maybe the time to reconsider locating the panel to the bottom of the screen. Might look less strange to to new comers to MX Linux. :linuxlove:

Definitely NOT as far I am concerned. It easy to move for those with bottom preference, but not me.

davemx wrote: Sun Dec 09, 2018 1:42 pm I installed it last night, on Desktop only. I'm using it now. So far the stuff I've done so far works, but GIMP 2.10 clashes with data files needed for MyPaint (no such problem with 2.8 and I hate the grey scheme but none of that is the fault of this excellent distro). Hopefully I'll be able to push a few things and test them over the next few days.

Can report now: Printing and Scanning working perfectly

To revert GIMP interface theme: https://www.daviesmediadesign.com/custo ... interface/
We have a tweaked version of MyPaint in the test repo that is compatible with GIMP 2.10, I'll ask Tim to move it to main.

You can switch back to the colorful icons for GIMP 2.10 somewhere in the settings, probably in Appearance or Interface. We should probably have that in a FAQ for MX 18.
