[Solved] mx-flash in MX 16 now wants sudo

#1 Post by Utopia »

Believe this happened after upgrading the other MX-tools.
The old menu entry isn't working and mx-flash can't be started from MX-tools. OK from a terminal with sudo, instead of su.
Haven't seen any warnings about this, was it an accident?

mx-flash is no longer maintained, you should not use it (we should probably remove it on the next update), that's another way to get flash on MX-16, there's an "adobe-flashplugin" package.

So it was an accident? If it can't be integrated in mx-tools anymore, there should be some kind of announcement.

Thanks,
Haven't seen that, even if I know it's not maintained any more.
I'm always a little bit behind and try to keep things I like.

I can see that :) MX16 is 4 versions back...
MX-16
MX-16.1 <- we replaced mx-flash here if I'm not wrong.
MX-17
MX-17.1

Not sure what went wrong, but I am not really inclined to dig more if all the other tools start fine from MX Tools, do they?

Check Apt GPG is the only other app that doesn't start from mx-tools.
You don't have to work on this, they work fine from a terminal.
There can be other kde-users who prefer an older release because of the changes in kde.

mx-flash is working again in the mx-tools, after the latest updates. Thanks!
