Hmmm... Any one has problem to run Palemoon in MX 17 32 bit ?
Palemoon refuses to load/start.I get follow message
Your Palemoon Profile can not be loaded. It may be missing or inaccesible.
Palemoon starts only with command
sudo Palemoon %u
I changen ownership of folder
/home/penguin/.moonchild productions/
but this did not resolved problem.Something that I missed?
Strange. I tested in my Sparky Linux 32 bit. Palemoon works perfectly. I migrated the *.ini files under directory
/home/penguin/.moonchild productions/
from Sparky, but the problem persists.

Re: Palemoon refuses to start
Copy command below and paste into a USER terminal, and hit enter.
Post output to forum.
Compare the user ID and group ID and user and group in the output of above commands they should all match.
The directories should have read, write, execute permissions for owner.
Example output below:

Code: Select all
id;ls -an ~/".moonchild productions";ls -al ~/".moonchild productions"

Re: Palemoon refuses to start
Did you install Palemoon from the MX-17 repo? Or from the MX Package Installer?

Any idea? As I said. I copied functional user ini directory from Sparky Linux but this did not resolved my problem.
1- I installed Palemoon from MX -Linux MX Installer. Removed/Purged
2- Installed Palemoon as descibred here
Code: Select all
https://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=home:stevenpusser&package=palemoon
3-Installed Palemmon package borrow by Sparky Linux
Code: Select all
https://sparkylinux.org/repo/pool/main/p/palemoon/
Any Idea?
Re: Palemoon refuses to start[RESOLVED]
Resolved... !!!
I searched a lot on the INTERNET but I did not found answer. I am not very sure whats happens and why .moonchild productions get wrong permissions. But I found solution.
IF your/home/user/.moonchild productions/ exists
THAN have a look at your cache directory .
DELETE /homeuser/.moonchild productions/ directotry
AND restart Palemoon.
Done!

Re: Palemoon refuses to start
The different Group ID should not have caused problems, but...
Run below command in USER term to make sure all directories, sub-directories, and files along
profile path recursively have proper user, group .
Need to know the actual full path to your profile folder, so please run in term
below command and post the output to forum.
Also post contents of your profile.ini file along path:
/home/penguin/.moonchild productions/pale moon/profiles.ini
to forum,. run below command in user term, then copy output from term and paste into post.
