Installing Plasma
I found a bug in MX 19 when you install Plasma it doesn't install the whole thing.
The window boarder is missing and some of the kde settings like system setting is missing

Re: Installing Plasma
I've mentioned it already in the beta thread. The problem stems from MX-linux not installing recommended packages by default. To fix plasma, you need to at least additionally install kwin_X11. Well technicallly you _can_ run KDE with another windows manager (e.g xfwm4) but kwin is expected. This situation was already so under MX17/stretch.

Re: Installing Plasma
That seems like a reasonable request, I'll try to make sure it gets seen. Thanks.

Re: Installing Plasma
We'll have to see if installing all the recommended packages goes too far the other way and installs way way too much, which is subjective, and we have to list each package separately in the installer script.
Re: Installing Plasma
I thought we were talking only about the one script kwin_X11

Re: Installing Plasma
Not sure but from the description in synaptic we may also need kwin-addons.
I ended up installing KDE Full from Synaptic to get it fully populated. Of course that brings in just about all of KDE. Maybe add a KDE Full entry to MXPI along with KDE Standard. Then users have control of how much gets installed.
Systemsetting needs to be installed. And it was not fully populated when I did so.This package contains additional KWin desktop and window switchers shipped in
the Plasma 5 addons module.
This package is part of the KDE Plasma addons module.

Re: Installing Plasma
Well, we can use "apt show <kde-metapackage>" in the terminal to see what each pulls in as Depends and what are getting left out on MX as Recommends. Though I always add our own kde-servicemenu* packages because they are so dang useful.
