Network button problem
Network button problem
Network manager icon from bottom panel, next to the date, show not connected even if connected. Network works but button display is erroneus.

if the network is configured by some other method, say /etc/network/interfaces, then network-manager-gnome will not manage it and it will show odd messages.

looking at your other threads, I'm suspecting a policykit issue here as well, as network-manager-gnome utilizes the policykit system for permissions. It probably can't figure out what is going on, even if network-manager (the daemon) has already made your connection.

From one of his threads about an Options Manager (not sure what that is), he mentioned MATE.

policykit starts at the start-up, it is checked as starting service at boot
