Re: Problems after todays updates
richb from our dev team just posted his autoremove information.
for some reason, apt is tagging the nvidia-driver package as removable. which is wrong.
So anyone catching up here: if you are using nvidia, hold up on the update.
but if that is the issue, reinstalling the nvidia driver will hopefully fix it.

Yikes! Well we'll see what happens after reboot. 390 should be back onboard now, but like I say, I'm backing up my files in case I have to hose things.dolphin_oracle wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 8:42 am richb from our dev team just posted his autoremove information.

Re: Problems after todays updates
Installing nVidia drivers with ddm-mx on MX-17 leaves those drivers auto-removable. Upgrading them works properly but leaves the new versions auto-removable as well. It is being noticed with the big update but it's not new. Auto-remove is not set up to run by default and any user who had been using it on MX-17 with the nVidia drivers would have already encountered this.

Re: Problems after todays updates
they aren't being tagged as autoremovable. they are being tagged as to be removed, and apt is just doing it as part of the normal process. which did not happen in our tests.timkb4cq wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 8:53 am Installing nVidia drivers with ddm-mx on MX-17 leaves those drivers auto-removable. Re: Problems after todays updates
What I have done this morning is reinstall nvidia-driver thru the nvidia-installer tool. seemed to work ok, and nothing is tagged as removable after the reinstall.
so hopefully this works ok for ghost67
