No Full Disk Encryption in installer is a step back from Debian

#1 Post by DEBIANUSER »

Hi, MX looks really very interesting!

However - distros that build on other distros should ADD features and not remove essential things.

Full Disk Encryption is such an essential thing - this is totally needed in many environments, I just can not understand why you remove that from the debian base.

Please add FDE - use the debian installer and customize that, but please do not prevent users from using essential features that have already been built by community members of the base distro you are using. Hhundreds of hours have been put into that and you just remove it - unbelievable. It is near to sabotage, that is how I feel about it.

Otherwise a very nice distro, but this is a major PITA. Please wake up, thanks.

Does OP want us to use the default Debian installer? If so, then OP must realise that all our live features will go out of the window. Debian live is not meant to be installed.

BTW - we are working on providing FDE.
