[Solved] LibreOffice 6 problem

#1 Post by dreamer »

Hi guys,

I have been diving further into MX-17. I’m amazed how much thought and work went into this OS. The manual is very helpful too. So thank you for doing this.

Now something else: LibreOffice 6. I’m having a few problems with it. Minor problems, but still problems. If I write a Linux path like “/home/user/Downloads” in LO then the words become Italic by default. If I write “-something-” then the word gets crossed out by default.

Maybe someone knows how to fix this in LO 6?

You're right, I never noticed that. A little drop of Google shows that those are the result of AutoCorrect, and where to fix it: Tools > Autocorrect, uncheck "While typing" That also turns off other autocorrect features, so I'd have to hunt around to find the exact place.
Production: 5.10, MX-23 Xfce, AMD FX-4130 Quad-Core, GeForce GT 630/PCIe/SSE2, 16 GB, SSD 120 GB, Data 1TB
Personal: Lenovo X1 Carbon with MX-23 Fluxbox and Windows 10
Other: Raspberry Pi 5 with MX-23 Xfce Raspberry Pi Respin

OK, thanks. I guess my Google-Fu was off today. Still a pretty bad default setting for LO 6. (Maybe LO wants to be more like MS Office?) :cat:

Tools> AutoCorrect> AutoCorrect Options> Options tab. 4th checkbox down - Automatic *bold*, /italic/, -strikeout- and _underline_.

Pity it's all or nothing, but I will leave it checked. It's less disruptive to my typing than using the Ctrl-B combinations.

Thanks.

BTW: I should have said to Dreamer that I knew from his description that it involved AutoCorrect, and I knew the correct term, so that made a G search much easier.
