[Solved] free sea navigation Software OPENCPN

#1 Post by waldmattis »

I use the free and very powerful sea navigation software OPENCPN since years on
- Android
- Windows
- Ubuntu
- Raspbian

No I switched totally to MX-17.1, 64bit and would like to use OpenCPN with MX-17.1.
The OPENCPN website https://launchpad.net/~opencpn/+archive/ubuntu/opencpn
gives information for the ppa.

Regrettably OpenCPN does not work with MX-17.1, 64bit.
It works with MX-16.1, 64bit.

Is it possible to make it work with MX-17.1?

Who can help?
Regards
Karl

Have you tried the version in the MX 17 test repository?

@Stevo

Good morning.
This was the advice, that I needed.
You are right, I found it.
Installation was succesful.
I will add seacharts in the afternoon and check its cooperation with the plugins.
Then I will come back and write my experiences.
Thank you so much.

Seems there is a lot for me to learn using MX.
But it is worth it. Great distro!
Thank you again.
Have a nice day.
Karl
