Hi,
I have problem after update system. When try to power off, getting stuck to black screen with display back lit on.
The following packages will be upgraded:
apt-notifier (18.03.03mx17+4 => 18.03.07mx17+1)
desktop-defaults-xfce-mx17 (0.7.17.6 => 0.7.17.
mx-conky-data (20180227.mx17 => 20180308.mx17)
mx-remastercc (18.3 => 18.3+1)
4 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
The same happens on Dell 5567 and Dell 5770. After fresh installation of MX 17 everything work fine
till update system and problem starts again.
I’m using MX long time, on those laptops, with no issue.
Thanks

Re: stuck to black screen when try to power off or restart
are you using the RC 17.1 or the current MX17 as a starting point?
the updates shouldn't be affecting shutdowns, but stranger things have happened.
Do you make any customizations in /etc/X11 or in /etc/modprobe.d by any chance?

Dragan didn't say anything about an external monitor. It's a laptop.Margaret59 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 6:51 am If you can't see on the external monitor at all, or the problem occurs on the external monitor as well, then it is probably the graphics card/GPU that is the problem, which may require the motherboard be replaced.
Dragan, why are you installing MX-17? It will just update iyself to MX-18.3 anyway so you may as well just install that in the first place. Or is there an issue with 18's default 4.19 kernel?
