Please translate 9 words for gazelle-installer

#1 Post by Old Giza »

Hello translators,

Just a very little bit of work involved here. gazelle-installer on Transifex has 6 mostly one-word phrases needing translation.

Thanks for your continued volunteer effoerts keeping MX up to date!

Regarding the new phrase "none - or existing" in "gazzelle installer", I need to know if "none" refers to something feminine or masculine. In Italian it translates differently (nessuno or nessuna), and I'm not sure I understand the right genre from the context. in Italian also neutral can be masculine or feminine ("partition" is femminine, "filesystem" is masculine)
What does "none" refer to: Partition? Swap? Grub? filesystem? What ?
Thank you

I used masculine for ES.
Sounded like the swap question.

It's meant to read something like: Choose "none or exiting" swap partition.

Since it is referring to swap, it depends on whether you consider swap masculine or feminine or neither. If neither use masculine unless there is a genderless translation.

Yeah... the problems of gendered languages. In Romanian partition is feminin so I used "niciuna", so I recommend "nessuna" for Italian.

There might be some words that don't need translation, I might have to mark them as non-translatable, partition types for example, ext2, ext3, btrfs, don't think they should be translated. Also some stuff like LayoutText, VariantText, not sure where those things came from.

OK thanks.
I will use "nessuna". Nessuna (feminine) is good for partition as well as for swap in the Italian language.
