FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

Does upgrading from beta1 work, or has there been dramatic changes?

There are some nice upgrades to the installer, as well as fixes, so installation needs to be tested. Just upgrading won't help with testing that.
Desktop: Intel i5-4460, 16GB RAM, Intel integrated graphics
Clevo N130WU-based Ultrabook: Intel i7-8550U (Kaby Lake R), 16GB RAM, Intel integrated graphics (UEFI)
ASUS X42D laptop: AMD Phenom II, 6GB RAM, Mobility Radeon HD 5400

Having some trouble using the new Date and Time application, likely a user error thing, but still.

Pre install:
Ahead of installing I wanted to check a file on my external harddrive, the external one did not appear in the devices overview. Couldn't get there via /media either.
Libreoffice quickly flashed but didn't start.
The crowding of the icons in the system tray seems to be gone.

Post install:

I can see the other partitions and drive post install.
Libreoffice starts like normal post install.
System tray crowding issue is back

<This is for asqwerth>

Installed fine, will test this morning. But first a snazzy new wallpaper (though I can never get the logo overlay to work)

BTW: that conky has an error in the time script but will be fixed as seen by the next update of mx-conky-data

When I went to reboot I got two red text lines that went away real quick, but just before it shut down I could see a Plymouth error in red. Cannot remember exactly what it said though (back in 18.3 gathering my wimpy wits haha)
