how to replace "delete" with "remove permanently" in thunar menu "view",
and to delete "move to trash"?

Don't know if you can remove the "move to trash" option, but you can ADD the "delete/remove permanently" option by going to Menu bar >> Edit >> Preferences, and in one of the tabs of the Preferences window, tick the checkbox to add the "delete permanently" option to the menu.

That's not an available setting in Thunar 1.6.15. Delete is permanently there unless you modify the source code and recompile. Same with move to trash. You're thinking of the newer Thunar that's in MX-19b1.

I saw that the perm delete option there was gone. Need to find the trashcan again :laugh:

I'm running that version (1.6.15) and have both Delete & Trash options.... not certain where I set it though. :eek: I do believe the next version of Thunar with xfce4.14 has the option. You can certainly create a Thunar custom action with the data available here:

In the version of Thunar with MX-19?

You can turn Delete back on in Preferences>Behaviour.

Thanks, I will find that then. Easily sorted :) And maybe it is safer to have a trashcan, found it already :)
