Re: [SOLVED] Mx doesn't close
I removed Nvdia driver and it works better : mx doesn't block
But removing 5.2.8 kernel I come back at the beginning : MX doesn't close
I 'm going to watch again the thread

Re: [SOLVED] Mx doesn't close
Yes but, didn't you try the 4.9.189 ?
Or, best, can you post the QSI currently ? (As in my signature below)

Re: [SOLVED] Mx doesn't close
Sorry our messages have crossed. In the stable repository, I see "plymouth" but no intallation or uninstallation action is possible. By cons in the deposit test I have the opportunity to remove "Plymouth". I will see if I find the kernel in question and check what is mine.
So it's the 4.19.0-5-amd64
I've just installed 4.9.189 ...I try

Don't forget that it'll take place in the submenu (advanced options) on Grub, you need to select 4.9 there..... If you click directly on the main menu, you'll be running on 4.19 again , and will be wrong test :)
Or to be sure which kernel you're running currently:

Re: [SOLVED] Mx doesn't close
You don't need to do anything with the original kernels unless there's an issue that could be kernel-related..
So, to use this kernel directly, you can use "MX Boot Options" and check it to save the last choice.. So no need to open the submenu every time..

Generally speaking, one of the 4.9 kernels runs better on older CPUs than the default 4.19.x kernel and one of the 5.x.x kernels is better on the newest CPUs.
To get your choice of kernels to "stick" so you don't have to select it every time you reboot, run MX Boot Options and click on the box to enable saving last boot choice.
