I've downloaded Mindomo appimage and quickly tested. It is really nice and has 'modern' look and feel.

Sorry for the misspell.
I am now using Freeplane as well as trying Mindomo
Both of which I knew nothing about before!

As for cleaning up the appimage icons I think you will find them all in ~/.local/share/applications Just delete them there and they'll be gone.
