Looks like one difference is:
4.19.7-antix.1-amd64-smp (does not support rcu_nocbs)
4.19.4-antix.1-amd64-smp (does support rcu_nocbs)
Yes. See how it works without rcu_nocbs.
If it doen't work well, then I'll reverse the kernel config and put it back.

Not to request every single kernel dot version, but given the following, wouldn't 4.19.8+ be a better choice for the RC/MX18-release ?

@asqwerth
On the same machine I use the same Conky that I used in MX 17.1 and it is this:
~/.conky/MX-LSD/lsd2/conkyrc
No todos ignoramos las mismas cosas.

Then obviously I need the .4.

Why would there be a difference?
Asus PRIME X470-PRO
AMD Ryzen 3600X (12 threads @ 3.8 GHz)
32 Gig DDR4 3600 (Crucial CL 16)
Nvidia GeForce GT 710
Samsung 970 NVMe nvme0n1 P1-3=MX-23, P4=testing
Samsung 980 NVMe =1TB Data, plus 2TB WD =backups
on-board ethernet & sound

Is desktop compositing on? Settings exactly the same as in 17.1?

Wait, hang on. Fehlix did some tweaks to some conkys to automatically follow the 12/24 hour time settings of your system, so the config for LSD conky may not be exactly the same as in 17.1.

You'll need to check with fehlix.

MX 18 beta1 very sluggish attemping install on Thinkpad E565 though MX17.1 is fine. The Lenovo Edge is their "Cheez Whiz" series. Booting with an Atheros AR9271 stick as the particular built-in Broadcom wifi adapter is not supported.

Welcome, and thanks for the report.

Did it run OK live? Was it the install that was sluggish, or the performance after the install?

Would you please post the output of Quick System Info, from the MX Tools menu.

This is one of those magic lua-script conkies which was not touched regarding the 12/24 display issue.
The issue of suddenly not displaying when clicking on the desktop is reproducable and will be fixed via pull request asap.
