BitJam wrote:@chrispop99, there is a bug in the sendsigs script that was released. Please edit /etc/init.d/sendsigs as root and change line 34 to:

Code: Select all

for pid in $(pgrep "$PROTECT_LIST"); do
(remove the "-f")
Yep, that's fixed it!

This isn't restricted to MX 17, but I scaled up the desktop icon size on the live session to see if the "Installer" text would stop being ellipsisized, plus I have an HDPI 1080 screen and like bigger icons, and the installer icon changed to a generic text icon. So it's not scalable. I don't know what's a better solution, an SVG icon or pngs in a range of sizes.

semi-related - mx-tweak now has a function for allowing longer file names on the desktop (no ellipses).

 Which way should I look at with my wifi network manager connection failure.
(details are viewtopic.php?f=77&t=43184)
Has new mx-network-assistant anything to do with it?

Sorry, we've been pretty busy with the new release and haven't had time to get back to your question.

The MX Network Assistant is not causing it, if that's what you mean. That screenshot was confusing, though, since it showed nothing at all yet you say the hardware is working.

Can you show us a bit more with these as regular user:

Code: Select all

lsusb | grep -i net
lspci | grep -i net
and this as root:

Code: Select all

iwconfig
Production: 5.10, MX-23 Xfce, AMD FX-4130 Quad-Core, GeForce GT 630/PCIe/SSE2, 16 GB, SSD 120 GB, Data 1TB
Personal: Lenovo X1 Carbon with MX-23 Fluxbox and Windows 10
Other: Raspberry Pi 5 with MX-23 Xfce Raspberry Pi Respin

'dmesg | tail' gives interesting sequence on that issue like
send auth to ...
authenticated
aborting authentication with ... by local choice (Reason: 3=DEAUTH_LEAVING)

Thanks to D_O
it works with workaround https://github.com/qca/open-ath9k-htc-f ... issues/132

That is interesting and, if you do a web search on the error message (3=DEAUTH_LEAVING), there are hits all over on it. Here's a couple to look at:

https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2259037
https://superuser.com/questions/974017/ ... then-drops

I don't know enough about this to help much more, but others here probably do.
