Did Grub work correctly when you were running Live?

If you are booting uefi, them the former grub installs and windows bootloader should still be present in the esp partition. You can use your uefi setup (bios) to choose which one to boot. Oldmlinux grubs will only work if the former linux installs are still present but the windows ones should work.
It is also sometimes beneficial to remove bootloader you arent using.

Don't install unless you are prepared for things to break, and are prepared to reinstall when the next beta comes out.
You can still help by testing live however.

During installation of MX-17 and later MX-16.1 on this uefi-laptop, the installer asked me where I want the grub to be installed. It had 3 options. MBR , Root and esp.
Since I installed about 100 different distros on this laptop in order to test them, I know that grub must go into esp, therefore I chose that.
The installation ended successfully.
In the boot-menu which appears after start, I can chose which OS I want to boot.
There is Win10, LinuxMint 17.3, LinuxMint 18.2, Peppermint-8, MX-16.1 and MX-17beta-1 .
Each does start correctly when I chose it.
The problem is that it takes about 45 seconds until the boot-menu appears.
The installer of MX-17beta-1 ruined something in my laptop.
Because before I installed it, the boot-menu appeared after 2 seconds since I press the power-button.
The first 2 seconds, the logo screen from Toshiba appeared, then immediately the boot-menu.
Now it is not immediately, but takes 45 seconds.
That is my problem.
I hope that I expressed it in an understandable way because in the past I ran into problems because of the words I used.
boot-menu, grub-menu or something and that caused misunderstandings.
Somewhere in a tutorial of Toshiba they used the name "GNU GRUB menu", maybe that is the correct word, I don't know.
I made a screenshot from the Toshiba tutorial which shows the grub-boot-menu which in my case appears much too late.

I selected the "no swap or using existing swap" option.
In the grub menu MX16.1 is listed first because I installed it after the installation of MX17beta-1.

The /var/log/boot file may tell you something. You can post it here and perhaps someone will see an anomaly.

Here is the /var/log/boot file.
Never saw that file before.
From what I understand of it, the log is started when I select an OS from the grub-boot-menu and press "Enter", because from there to the login-screen it takes 25 seconds on my laptop.
So the big lag of more than 40 seconds happens before the log is started and therefore not recorded.
Maybe there is a log somewhere for that gap ?
