Monitoring CPU, HDD and RAM on MX 17/18 desktop

#1 Post by oskarenko »

Hello, I would like to ask about monitor of the use of CPU, HDD and RAM on the desktop. I have installed MX Linux 17.1 32bit on my Compaq nx611O non-PAE version snapshot. After updating to MX 18 everything is OK, but I would like the desktop to be as on MX 18. Unfortunately after upgrade It stayed same (MX 17). I have changed the background picture, but I cannot change monitoring of the use of CPU, RAM and HDD showing on desktop. On the MX 17 is just CPU and HDD. I would also like to have RAM monitoring that normally appears on MX 18 (on another computer), but I do not know how to do it. I cannot to do full install MX 18 because it does not exist in non-PAE version.
Thank you very much for your advice! Have a nice day!

You should be able to use MX Conky and Conky Manager to change the one shown on your desktop.

There's nice overview here https://mxlinux.org/conky-images

Not sure if it's up-to-date though...

The Xfce panel offers some goodies for that too. Not as fancy as the Conky, but out of the way and efficient.
