Bibata Mouse Cursor theme (Easy to see)

#1 Post by manyroads »

If you want what looks to be a colorful and easy to see mouse cursor theme, may I suggest Bibata?

Here's the theme: https://www.gnome-look.org/p/1197198/

I needed to install the following dependencies in order to make it work for me:
inkscape (from mxpi) --and--

Code: Select all

sudo apt install libatk-adaptor
Enjoy!

For a serious suggestion, install the package oxygencursors.

This will give you a number of very clear mouse pointers. I use the highlighted one.

I install DMZhaloR on every Linux system I use, then set the size to 40 or higher depending on my computer's resolution (the cursor sizes range from 24px to 64px.) It's the standard DMZ white cursor theme with black outlines but with an added red halo effect. I have vision issues (glaucoma, nearsightedness, increasing farsightedness as I grow older, astigmatism, detached retinas in the past, past cataracts) and used to have problems finding my mouse cursor, but not any more. This puppy is visible against any background color except maybe a mixture or red, black and white (ouch!) The white stands out against dark backgrounds, the black outline is easily seen against light backgrounds, and the red halo stands out against practically everything else. You can't lose that!

BTW, I highly recommend adding this cursor theme as one of the available ones in MX Linux for accessibility reasons.
