Xfce 4.14 will be the first major update to the desktop since Xfce 4.12 debuted in 2015, so if 4.14 comes in 2019 this is soon for a major change.

In the time I have been here, I have to say I love the way you folks help keep people like me from "jumping off the edge". I like the bleeding edge "a lot". But I am coming to appreciate and value competence and reliability "even more". :lipsrsealed:

I didn't say that did I????? :bagoverhead:

Or you can just multiboot stable and rolling distros so you have both types.
Desktop: Intel i5-4460, 16GB RAM, Intel integrated graphics
Clevo N130WU-based Ultrabook: Intel i7-8550U (Kaby Lake R), 16GB RAM, Intel integrated graphics (UEFI)
ASUS X42D laptop: AMD Phenom II, 6GB RAM, Mobility Radeon HD 5400

Think this will be very similar to the MATE DE. All the stuff must be backported to stretch. Better and easier is creating a new MX version based on Debian Buster when new xfce stuff is on it. Maybe 2020 or much later... :p
for those with an eye for the finer details...

... I think it will come with Ubuntu 19.10 (before the LTS 20.04)... It's my guess.

Not sure about anyone else but I will be quite pleased once the transition to GTK3 is finally complete.
It irks me that my favourite theme keeps getting broken as things are upgraded.
Just opened GIMP for the first time since switching to MX-18, thought the new splash screen looks pretty cool, makes a nice change, then I saw how the GUI looked...yuck, lol :tumbleweed:

Isn't Gimp 2.10 still GTK2? GTK2 shouldn't be broken. It has been stable forever. What can have happened is that Gimp 2.10 isn't set to follow your system theme by default. You can change that in Gimp preferences.

Yes that's what it was, I learned something new today, thank you
In the past it must have always been set to use the System theme as I've never seen it use another theme before.
