MX-18 desktop clock/CPU/memory/etc

#1 Post by _HG_ »

Hi !

I have just installed MX-18, Swedish language, on a Dell Latitude D630 Laptop.
Generally, I'm pleased, but on the desktop is a field that show the time, CPU load, memory, etc.
It doesn't update. It only add more numbers and is a real mess.
How do I disable it ?

"Conky Toggle" in the menu will turn it off.

Though I thought that Conky display bug was fixed. :frown:

I guess its just "mitigated heavily".

on the installed system, I suggest using conky-manager to increase the time delay before the conky starts up if the problem continues.

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

Are you sure you have the Final release, not an earlier version?

Could you please give us the output of this command as regular user:

Code: Select all

cat /etc/mx-version
Highlight the line that returns then right-click to copy.

I've just booted a D630 that was one of the test machines for MX-18. It has Final on it, and it had no Conky corruption on three consecutive boots from installed, and two live.

It had the corruption every boot with Beta/RC1.

Thank you all for your help.
I now have toggled Conky off.
I already have all the info in the system tray, so no need for the Conky.

$ cat /etc/mx-version
MX-18_x64 Continuum Dec 20, 2018

Tanks, and Merry Christmas !
