All went ok on the new install, so I figured, let's update mx14's nvidia driver as well.
Start tvtime, get choppy output. Drat.
Same on the new install.
How do I roll back those upgraded packages to version 319.82-1~bpo70+1 I believe the former was?
Never mind.. crooked volt I guess..

What version do you have installed right now?Eadwine Rose wrote:All went ok on the new install, so I figured, let's update mx14's nvidia driver as well.

Code: Select all
inxi -Gxx
The only difference between the +1 version and +2 is that it was patched to add support for 3.13 and 3.14 kernels
Code: Select all
$ apt-get changelog nvidia-driver/wheezy-backports
nvidia-graphics-drivers (319.82-1~bpo70+2) wheezy-backports; urgency=medium
* linux-3.14.patch: New. Add support for Linux 3.14.

nvidia-graphics-drivers (319.82-1~bpo70+1) wheezy-backports; urgency=medium
* Rebuild for wheezy-backports.

Re: Updated nvidia driver, now want the old one back.. how?
I wiped a W8 machine last night and installed a Jessie based KDE distro. Had some major graphics weirdness initially, then over time it got less and less weird and finally seemed to straighten itself out. This is with me not doing anything other than just messing with it, updating, doing some light configuring, adding a handful of programs. It did it with the deafult/recommended Intel driver and I changed nothing in that regard. Makes no sense, but I'm not going to complain.Eadwine Rose wrote:Ok tried to put a clone back on the other drive, no workie.. so I come back to my install.. I start tvtime again and it's solved

The owner had infected this thing three times in the last three weeks. I told him last night he was getting Linux. He asked what that meant. I told him it was an infection proof operating system that he could use to cruise pr0n to his heart's content. He asked if he could still use his Google Chrome. I told him yes, and he said go for it.
