Latest Libreoffice will be upgraded!
Good news since 4.2 has a lot of benefits.
Bad news is that it is quite a large download.
More good news, next point release will include LO4.2 (That will keep Jerry happy) :)

Re: Latest Libreoffice will be upgraded!
Is it significantly larger than the currently-shipped version? If so, will it still fit on a CD?

That is great! I think having most of LO on is a significant plus, so am very glad it will be available.

Re: Latest Libreoffice will be upgraded!
Just to show my ignorance....
Is there a Libre Office "lite" (with just the word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation?) that could be included on the CD to keep size down? Then make available the option to install the "whole thing" via meta-package installer or some other menu selected means?
Just wondering.....

Via Synaptic you can control which components you want to install, though the three you list plus the common take up most of the package's load.

Re: Latest Libreoffice will be upgraded!
Quite by coincidence, I've been testing a newly released Xfce distro today that does just that:PhilH wrote:Just to show my ignorance....

They also Firefox, Thunderbird, and Gimp - all on a CD! I'm trying to find a catch; apart from a decent music player (it has VLC), I can't find one.

Heh! Well, yeah. I really meant what could be missing to make room for what is included.Jerry3904 wrote:The 'Buntu bit?I'm trying to find a catch...I can't find one.
