well, bummer! after I installed XBMC the stupic image is almos 1000 MB (too big for a cd).

Installing almost anything will go over the 700 MB limit, since MX is right up against it at the start.

Maybe clean out Libreoffice? That takes quite a bit of room.

that's a good idea. I think I'll delete one or two of the components of the suite. What do you think is never usd by the majority of people? I can tell you that I have never used anything but write and calc.

The core of libre office is the biggest chunk so unless you delete it all you won't save a lot of space...
