Many years ago I ran Mepis Gnome until it was not longer updated. Vampirefo did a great job. It was so fast it was scary. Loved that distro.
Using MX14 Booting from a flash drive using unetbootin. Everything great so far. Very fast on this machine. Installed kwin and it`s dependencies for a different window manager and it`s running smooth and fast so far. Will post back with any problems.
