Writers - what tools / techniques do you use to write?

Like figueroa, I do not worry about tools and other extras provided by technology. The greatest advantages (for me) of a computer are that I can write for as long as I
wish, without running out of paper, I can review the writing at any time and edit my work at any time - usually a week of more later. One extra is that by using
Lyx as the document processor, most of the formatting is done for me.

You're a person after my own heart. I've made the same recommendation in the past (after Lunduke put out a video on it as I recall) and I'm going to spend some time tonight seering how hackable it might be in terms of a more inviting background color and all. Thanks!

I've installed especially for wordgrinder terminal emulator called Sakura.

There are easy available settings (with right-click) for changing colurs, fonts etc. and you can save 6 different colour settings.

For everyday usage I prefer MX xfce terminal emulator and F4 shortcut.

But Sakura is good for wordgrinder (for me).

@Fibogacci - I love Freeplane! One could just about right it all in a mindmap utilizing Node, Node Notes, and Node Details, etc.! Or just for structure and maybe "linking" documents... Lot's to love with Freeplane. I played with Wordgrinder too. Nice.

I wrote my first book on LO...90K words first draft. For my second book, I'm using Google Docs on chrome web browser...I like it because it is always saved, fully encrypted, and I can jump over to a tablet or my iPhone...and write from anywhere and use the dictate function. Like @figueroa, all I care about is output, not making it pretty. "Get it down, then fix it up."

My initial motivation for posting OP is -- If I'm going to get stuck in a rut (choice of writing tools/procedures) I want to get stuck in the best rut for me. And you all have helped.
