I'm one of those folks who visited the MX Linux page on Distrowatch in the last 7 days after having been disappointed by a few of the other "high ranked" distros. I proceeded to download and install it. Faster than a locomotive, intuitive and full of very useful tools.....what's not to love?

Yes, still climbing up various rankings... great news. IMO, all it needs is a company to pre-install MX Linux on it's boxes to complete the ascent and truly be on a par with the "big guns" ;)

That would be interesting, it would be nice if we could offer some persistency enabled flashdrives personalized with MX logo on them, that was one of my old ideas... it would be a great way to popularize MX.

Agreed! Plus big enough that we could have a Data partition ready to go?

Might be worth starting a "brainstorming" thread, see what other ideas there are for getting to the next level, so to speak. That's assuming that any of the MX team have the extra time and inclination to try it.

I think it's important to remember that the few more popular Distros (Manjaro, Mint, Ubuntu, etc) receive serious backing from sponsor's and user's donations - and all have deals with Hardware manufacturers... well not exactly "manufacturers", more like box shifters.

My small contribution to such a thread:

Maybe someone here knows someone who knows someone... maybe there's some Laptops out there sold without an OS that would work great with MX pre-installed on them.

Hello, MX "Development" forum...

In my last post in MX forum I had simply responded to the "Interesting Distrowatch..." post. However I did not notice until just now that there is a "General" section in the "MX" Board listing of the Forum Index, and a "General" section in the "Development" Board of the Index too. I thought I was posting to a single General/General posting Board/section/thingy.

I was going crazy looking in the General/General section for my post - and couldn't find it.

So this section may not be the right place to mention/discuss my point. Nevertheless my comment was a "response" to your posts anyway.

Regards,
