I need a screenshot of the screenshot error. I have not been able to reproduce any error in either MX or antiX, which actually use different screenshot tools.

did you install antiX screenshot on mx17? I don't think its preinstalled (unless it is and I missed it )

mx17 uses a different tool (hit PrtScrn to see it, or its in the graphical menu too).

and not to be completely ridiculous, but maybe you changed the extension. why it matters I can't tell you, but in antix-screenshot the file name you give the screenshot MUST have an extension and the extention MUST match whatever format you chose on the opening screen (default is jpg I think).

I know xfce-screenshooter works as expected on alpha 4 because I used it last night for my post in the other alpha thread.

I did not try the cli tool - scrot though.

Well shutdown and reboot MX and I guess I had a one off error. This time every thing saved just fine.. Color me puzzled.

@d_o yes the default is jpg in Antix, I had the same problem in 15 until I got a update and the problem disappeared.
It never has shown up in 16.
But it is back in 17. I just remove the dot and retype it. Seems to do the trick what ever extension I try.
