Core xfce 4.13 packages are in Debian Experimental

#1 Post by Stevo »

I'm trying to see if I can backport them to Jessie and Stretch using the openSUSE build service. I already see that exo 0.11.3 in Sid would require Stretch's newer GTK 3, but Jessie might be able to get by with exo 0.11.2.

This could give us some idea if we can build xfce 4.14 for MX 16 when it gets released, or if it will be restricted only to MX 17.

Interesting. That's going to require some intensive testing as well...

The OBS seems to be acting up anyway..not wanting to build anything. Usually they fix it by the next day.

After some experiments, it's become obvious that the newer GTK 3 in Stretch, plus the newer gcc there, are needed to build some of the 4.13 base xfce packages, so it looks like 4.14 is also going to be an MX 17 exclusive.

As usual very Interesting info from you Stevo. All we have to do then is to wait for MX17 to be released ;) .

And xfce-4.14, since the 4.13 versions are development versions, and we want a stable desktop.
