Not sure what these error messages mean. Everything on this PC is working fine so far. So thought I'd share them with people here who are more experienced than me. Is there anything I should do or investigate further?

It kinda smells as if there's been some damage to the file system. I'd run a fsck on the partitions to see if it can repair anything, and then run some tests with gsmartcontrol to see what it thinks about the disk's physical health.

Today I ran the same command again. APT updated six libraries. APT displayed no error message.

I just ran APT again and got no error message. So I guess it is fixed. Thank you to all for your input.
