"Lite Linux" or "MXLinux" ?

#1 Post by jitterssnowpaw »

I've recently tried Lite Linux but I am not sure if it uses systemd. Also does MXLinux use SystemD?

I like how MXLinux has utilities. I tried a second time to get my game to run in a 1024x768 I'm not sure how I did it last time but I reinstalled and tried Linux Mint but I didn't like it still. So I'm going to stick with MXLinux no matter what but Lite Linux is also nice.

"Systemd is included by default but not enabled."

The rest of the info is in the manual.

Although I'm not a moderator, I'm surprised to see this topic is under "Help" rather than "General => Chat"...

And also it's really like April 1st joke nowadays: Mint or MX ? Deepin or MX ? Lite or MX ? ...

"Lite Linux" or "MXLinux" ?
You almost come across, like you would want that we would decide for you, which distro you should like the best
Sorry buddy, that's your job

Seriously though, just run them all, test them all and see which one you like the best, it is simple as that.
Use spare partition or virtual box... just start testing and comparing. In Linux world you have a choice and that is a good thing.

Btw, one of a praises MX Linux has, is it's superb manual. Why not give it a try, you will get many your questions answered.

Honestly, I'm a fan of both distros. I first tried MX because I got freaked out by all the scary frightening awful stuff that was being written about systemd, and about how it would soon enable the Robotic Overlords to take control of every Linux system on the planet, etc. I've been back and forth on this systemd stuff and honestly, while it has the potential, perhaps, to be part of some sinister Grand Design in the future, it's "the new normal" among most distros and Linux people are not so easily led around to dangerous places. Both distros offer supercool tools and point-and-shoot simplicity for newbies (and technophobes like me who are scared of "pressing the wrong button and blowing up the world").

:snail: I've used systemd on another system, & whilst I don't like it in principle, it worked OK, :turtle: but I prefer the way that I'm used too :p , so no systemd for me :alien: , at least, not until I really have to. :crossfingers:

You should absolutely use Windows 10.

No Systemd or SysV or OpenRC or Runit...

Just " System$ " .
