[Request] bspwm & sxhkd [SOLVED]

#1 Post by manyroads »

Hello @stevo & team

Is it possible to get the current versions of bspwm & sxhkd loaded into the MX18+ testrepos (or somewhere a simple guy like me can find them)?

When I try to do a manual install dependency software fails:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install libxcb-xinerama0-dev
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 libxcb-xinerama0-dev : Depends: libxcb-xinerama0 (= 1.12-3) but 1.13.1-1~mx17+1 is to be installed
I am unable to find a manual install for the failing dependency package.

The sources & build instructions for the bspwm/ sxhkd install software are available here:

https://github.com/baskerville/bspwm/wiki

Thank you *TOO MUCH* :number1:

When you installed i3wm from Test it brought in the libxcb-xinerama0 from Test.
-dev pacakages must match the versions of their libraries exactly.
So go to MXPI -> MX Test Repo -> uncheck the "hide library and developer packages" box and install your -dev package from Test where it has been since March 20th.
