Open Bangla software
Open Bangla software
Some layout of bengali language is not available within debian software package. Essentially Unijoy and Avro layout. There is a ppa software called "open bangla" which is not available in debian package.
You can see it here: https://openbangla.github.io
We want a debian software package that have all the layouts of openbangla and also include unijoy layout in it.
Unijoy layout is available in 'ibus m17n' in synaptic package manager. But it has not 'avro' phonetic layout in it. Currently we can not write with avro by any way, Since PPA isn't supported like mint. We want these all layouts in one debian package.
You just need to combine two software into one debian package.
1.Openbangla(available in mint/manjaro ppa )
2.ibus m17n(available in synaptic package manager)
Thank you.

Re: Open Bangla software
Can you give me a link to the Mint PPA on Launchpad? Because I can't find it. I see that their home page offers some debs, but that's not a real repository with source where I can copy the debianized source files.
Re: Open Bangla software
May be this link would help:
https://github.com/OpenBangla/OpenBangla-Keyboard
If you couldn’t find Openbangla ppa for mint, or fail to do so for any reason. Don't worry.
You can use 'Avro' ppa instead of openbangla.
Combining Avro+ibus m17n layout would fulfil exactly what we want.

Ibus m17n is available in synaptic.

Re: Open Bangla software
Well, the only real PPA link is the last one, but it has no packages, plus one of the others links to an OBS Trusty repository that's since been removed. I'll do some more detective work when I get time.

Re: Open Bangla software
Has it been possible to make any progress on this please? A Facebook user is asking exactly the same question.

What's up? Any solution?
Re: Open Bangla software
There is a somewhat recent installer here: https://github.com/SiamSami/Avro-installer-for-Deepin. I got an error when I tried to run it, but was able to open it and find the download:
wget https://github.com/maateen/avro/release ... -3_all.deb
Gdebi says that package will install. There is source code available for that: https://github.com/maateen/avro/releases
Not sure if this is what OP wants.

তোমাকে অসংখ্য ধন্যবাদ!
Re: Open Bangla software
Did you have to restart ibus to get it to work as the directions say?
I could try adding it to a postinst script so the deb installation does that automatically.
Code: Select all
ibus restart
