Heimdall 1.4.2
Heimdall 1.4.2
Hi,
referring to https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?f=121&t=39924
Could you please pack Heimdall 1.4.2 for MX-18? Heimdall 1.4.1 is not sufficient for flashing Samsung Galaxy S5.
I'm planning to migrate from an old antiX installation to MX or any other Distro that offers Heimdall 1.4.2
Best regards,
Kurt

Re: Heimdall 1.4.2
The Debian rules file also has a "get-orig-source" target that I used to generate an 1.4.2+dfsg (Debian Free Software Guidelines) compliant orig tarball.
It ends up at 72 K instead of 5.2 MB like in the PPA.
Working on the update now.
Code: Select all
debian/rules get-orig-source

Re: Heimdall 1.4.2
We use a get-orig-source target to get the new Firefox and Seamonkey orig tarballs, as well as the many language packages for those, so that saves a load of work getting those; just ask Mike! That's when I learned about it, when kmathern adapted those for us, and he fixes them when Mozilla breaks them upstream, so when I see that target in the debian/rules file, I figure it can't hurt to try it.
There are some other packages where I've used that to get the latest source tarballs and then have the process throw all the non-dfsg stuff out automatically, but Calibre is the only one I can think of offhand.

Heimadall-1.4.2 is now in the test repos if you want to see if it works with that new Samsung.

Re: Heimdall 1.4.2
Thanks! We might move it to main, since it fixes the problem, at least with your model, and I don't know how many others are going to test it.
