MX Linux is in 3rd place

Here you can post about what you did to get MX to work right with your computer or if hardware worked right out of the box for you. This is for the computers and/or hardware that is normally hard to get working right in Linux or MX.

MX Linux just took 3rd place on Distrowatch.com.
I am command line illiterate. I copy & paste to the terminal. Liars, Wiseguys, Trolls, and those without manners will be added to my ignore list.

I saw that. Tied with Elementary, but MX has been rising faster than Elementary. I tell everyone I know about it and to check it out. Many of them know about distrowatch so they go check it out. It's good to see MX having people looking at it.

Please do not post topics which are already discussed here: viewtopic.php?f=77&t=46528#p462358

It really works confusing for other users to have multiple posts relating to the same topic...

Hi nomko, I can understand your request. However this DW report is a new one. Yes MX was up to #3 in October, but then dropped down the list, This post is new one with
MX climbing up again but regrettably the reporter used the same subject line.

My own opinion of these listings is that they are unreliable and not worth reporting.
Backup: Dell9010, MX-19_B2, Win7, 120 SSD, WD 232GIB HD, 4GB RAM
Primary :Homebrew64 bit Intel duo core 2 GB RAM, 120 GB Kingston SSD, Seagate1TB.
MX-18.2 64bit. Also MX17, Kubuntu14.04 & Puppy 6.3.

I have been following the increased interest in learning about MX and it is amazing how it has grown rapidly.

Please keep in mind that the ranking is based upon view per page. It is not a reliable benchmark. You will find out that with every new release of a distro, it ranking will also go up in that list. Take a good look at the first 4 to 5 linux distributions. They have all released a newer version (Majanro, Elementary) or a beta version (Mint 19.1). This specific point will make those distributions climb the ladder. After a few weeks/months most will drop down to a more stable ranking, as you can see with the latest ranking overview, the #1 (Manjaro Linux) is already climbing down the ladder. This does not mean that Manjaro is no longer a favorite Linux distribution, but this merely means that the interest in Manjaro is dropping down. And interest meaning, everybody who loves/likes Linux has visited the Manjaro site after they announced the new release and at this moment the number of visitors are dropping down resulting in a lesser views per page.

Having been around the block "just a few times" with this subject... I would remind everyone of the famous cliché: "Be careful what you ask for, you might get it."
