Thank you for the i was information. I hope that at some stage there will be an update notifier like MX, unless im missing something
[/quote]
@brolly - like anticapitalista said: there is not and there won't ever be a MX like update notifier.
The reasoning behind that is that the dev team, and very rightly so, doesn't want to waste system resources having a automatic updater running in the background...
Also the only non terminal way I know, out of the box, of updating and upgrading antiX is using synaptic, clicking 3 buttons in a sequence, from left to right... But at https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic ... post-24730 there's a script for using a GUI to update and upgrade antiX. The same thread even has a one line script, not as fancy, to the same, that you can put in your desktop/toolbar and click to check for updates and apply them...
I hope this helps you...

Re: antiX-19-b2-full (64 and 32 bit) available
namida,
Are you getting sound from other devices? Like playing songs in XMMS or sound from youtube videos?
I am still having sound problems on my old Ryzen with the beta2.
I had it working mostly by installing pulseaudio, but it has regressed, and now does not work again (even XMMS).
Without pulseaudio, I was able to hear sounds by manually configuring XMMS.

NO, not in B2.entropyfoe wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 12:32 pm namida,

In b1, sound was only good after sound Icon appeared on the panel. I was able to choose one of the two (snd_hda_intel) devices with antiX Control Center: Sound Card Chooser.
In b2 I have 3 devices listed via inxi -F:
Code: Select all
Device-1: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD/ATI] driver: snd_hda_intel
Device-2: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] driver: snd_hda_intel
Device-3: Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920 type: USB driver: snd-usb-audio,uvcvideo
Sound Server: ALSA v: k4.9.182-antix.1-amd64-smp
Also have no clue on configuration of using Microphone of Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920 type: USB driver: snd-usb-audio. This only shows up in the sound Card Chooser when the C920 USB is plugged in. I also can not start b2 with this camera in the usb port, b2 just waits until I unplug the camera and then proceeds with boot.
Do you have a gen 1, or Gen 2 Ryzen? I have sold everything in that early build except my Gen 1 Ryzen 5 1500x CPU, but have someone via craigslist negotiating price...
Sorry can't test the original set-up, but if you want I could change out the CPU to test b1 sound with my old video card if that will help you? Entropyfoe, maybe that is pointless with old video card...
