I have posted a new knowledge-base article on "binary space partitioning window manager" (bspwm) Resources and pointers. Enjoy.

Just to provide an update... I am now running bspwm on both MX18.3 & antiX19b1. :happy: I will publish a guide to building a bspwm environment in the MX/antiX world shortly (in the next week or so). :needcoffee:

I am pleased to announce that effective today... I am running MXLinux 18.3 with bspwm. I think I have most things functional, including pop-up help to aid my 'remembery' (to quote Winnie-the-Pooh). :crossfingers:

I have also gotten bspwm to work on antiX19b1.

I will post tutorials related to my bspwm exploration (learnings) as soon as I am able to write them. :needcoffee:

A more detail update may be found at: http://eirenicon.org/2019/07/15/bspwm-an-update/

Nice job manyroads are you saying that MX 18.3 will install with bspwm as the default desktop ? or that you have installed bspwm on an installed version of MX 18.3 ? (and the same for antiX19b1)
Main : MX 19.1-AHS (i3) 5.4.13-1~mx19+1, Asus B450-i AMD 5 3600 , 32gb Hyper-X 3200 , GTX970 . :linuxlove:
Lenovo T430 : Debian10 antiX17 (i3) , 4.20.12 , i5 , 12gb .
Lenovo X220 : Test Machine (ATM)

Right now I am running bspwm & xfce together within the same user account on MX18.3 (many xfce functions are "shared" like Thunar, catfish, etc.). I select my desktop at login via the top-right drop-down. Once the new MX19 is released, I plan to build a standalone MX19 respin for bspwm. As for antiX, I have built, and now removed, antiX19b1 bspwm standalone. My plan (thoughts) for antiX are to build a respin with both bspwm & herbstluftwm together and without the other wms. :bagoverhead:

Most (all?) of the dotfiles I am using to create my bspwm environment are built such that they are easy to move between the two distros (MX & antiX). I have tested most of them. :needcoffee:

I will, but have not yet, fully documented my approach & results. I think what I finally publish should be portable to other distro platforms, arch, gentoo, slackware, *buntu, etc. (I doubt I'll test on other distros). I'm just too lazy. :eek:

Here are some screenshots of my current bspwm layout. You can see the implementation of nav tools: polybar, tint2, rofi. Catfish & thunar are also visible among other items. Here are full screenshots.

@manyroads
That is outstanding news for both MX and antiX and for windows tilers like myself. I have portions available for your respins. As I have my herbstluftwm rice backed up will also be fun the try out bspwm and with my i3 add to the mix Heaven awaits..

Thank you very much for your time and hard work...

@KoO You are welcome. Based on what you and I have, I think it might be fun to consider the creation of an antiX Tiling wm 'compilation' respin offering herbstluftwm, i3, bspwm. We could call it a 'ricer's dream- antiX' :number1:
