EDIT: not there in MX-14, so not really available to me.
I see the antix.daveserver repo enabled in the /etc/apt/sources.list.d/antix.list file, so the user-management-antix package should be available.
# Use with Debian Wheezy repository.
deb http://antix.daveserver.info/stable stable main

# Use with Debian Testing (or Sid) repositories.
#deb http://antix.daveserver.info/testing testing main

What does the following show?

Code: Select all

apt-cache policy user-management-antix

Installed it, takes about 1 MB of space. Looks pretty good, think we should use it if anti is OK with that.

Do you get a menu entry for it? (I don't -- not initially anyway)

No. But I used Main Editor to create one under System, with command

Code: Select all

gksu /usr/local/bin/user-management
, Comment of
Work with users and groups
, Tango icon 24x24/apps/system-users.png, manual edit

Code: Select all

NoDisplay=false...Terminal=false

Jerry3904 there is no such thing as "Running out of time" for this, your project. Breathe deep, maybe take a bike ride or what ever, relax, clear the mind. No body going to fire ya.

Now I have run the script in Kubuntu under terminal. The window comes up for "Must be root" fine however, could not get it to run under root. Brought up Deb 7 32bit(stock) under terminal,
the user run crashes terminal. Under root it just runs doing something(with no pop up window) and does not stop to use anything from the menu, then exit.

Maybe later tonight, will try it on Xubuntu and see what happens. Sorry the only other Xfce desktop I have is on a Slack load.

Take your time, we are behind you on this project.

Thanks! I really am running out of time on this, but am not in panic mode...

We have given up on my dippy little script, I think, and will likely go with a very professional-looking yet lightweight app that antiX already has.

I didn't mention the script since it will need some editing to get all the options to work in MX-14.
