I was in that group too for a bit before I got off of Facebook. Lots of really nice folks there and a nicely run group!

Is there a 'preferred' way to link problems from FB group to the MX forums, aside from recommending folks meander this way for additional info/ help?

Chris and I routinely intercede on technical questions, saying they are best posted on the Forum where the Devs will see them and others can profit from solutions.
