Dell Studio 540 to Sony Bravia 40' LCD

#1 Postby iridesce » Tue Sep 28, 2010 10:45 pm

So here I am once again requesting help from all of you.

As stated in the title I have a Dell Studio 540 and am trying to use a Sony Bravia LCD (KDL-40S5100) as a monitor.

The Dell Studio 540 also has an optional Haupage video card 1250?

I am using mepis 8.5 ( kernel 2.6.32-1-mepis64-smp )

I forgot where the page is that has the command line commands to list the hardware in the box.

I have tried connecting using a s-video cable and then a HDMI cable ( not at the same time ) and using the Configure Display gui with no results

I would appreciate any ideas or links or questions that you think would point me in the right direction

Yes, even I am dishonest. Not in many ways, but in some. Forty-one, I think it is.
