This is not available in Buster or any above Stretch. I tried to install the Stretch deb, but ran into a dependency (python-wnck). There is a long thread on that dependency (was in Sid, then removed) here: https://github.com/ssokolow/quicktile/issues/95
Situation does not look good, but I'll ask anyway if this can be ported to MX-19?

Re: gdevilspie
I built just the python-wnck & python-rsvg python2 bindings packages from the old gnome-python-desktop source. That should be safe enough.
And I've built and uploaded gdevilspie for MX-19 Test.
There is a missing depends (python-xdg) that I need to add, but it's there for testing now if you install that yourself.

Fine. Will do after walking the dog and drinking a beer (always makes testing more profitable)

Re: gdevilspie
Close.
1. when I launch it, I get the warning below. Probably need to autostart it?
2. tried to get opera to open on specific workspace; launched opera, launched gdevilspie, checked Get for the application name, but only selection with opera in it was "gdevilspie - MX Linux Forum - Opera" (contents of all 3 workspaces) and that doesn't work.
I wrote the Wiki entry, maybe I need to read it again...

Re: gdevilspie
Just as an aside I was doing some testing with gdevilspie today on 19.1 from mx test repo and it seemed to work fine, installing with Install Recommends, was able to set application geometry and default workspace.
