Also shutter, my favorite.Buck Fankers wrote: ↑Mon Dec 31, 2018 3:54 pmYes, sure!
I wasn't suggesting new packaging, I was just letting others know, about new text box feature, since it can easy be missed, since it is not enabled by default.
Besides, there is also appimage available for download and there is also 'ksnip' app in stable repo, similar snapshot tool that allows fast annotations on top of it. So we have plenty to choose from. ;-)
Thanks for all the packaging you guys are doing it!

Hesitate to answer for some criticism I took for suggesting it. But since you asked yes it canBuck Fankers wrote: ↑Tue Jan 01, 2019 8:55 pmCan shutter directly plot lines, shapes, arrows on the screenshot like other two mentioned? Once I tried it, some time ago though, I couldn't do it without exporting screenshot into different plotting program.

Re: MX 17 Repository: Flameshot Thread
I just tried it. I like it. With shutter I can already placed annotation, say line or arrow, re position it, or change thickness, or color... big plus for annotating my charts. With Flameshot I need to undo the latest action and try to draw the line better. Also, that tool that auto increases count, it will save me time, great idea! Last time I tried Shutter, year or two ago, it didn't have this stuff or I didn't find it. I remember I was exporting screenshots into another painter like app to add stuff on top of it. Shutter will now become my standard tool, thanks.
I still also like flameshot too ;-)

Hotshots is another Qt 4 screenshot app that has a lot of annotation options, and won't pull in a lot of GNOME stuff like shutter.Buck Fankers wrote: ↑Sat Jan 05, 2019 4:13 pmI just tried it. topic: MX 17 Repository: Flameshot Thread
subforum: Package Requests/Status - MX 17
It's not framed as a "hep me pick the mostest bestest screencapturator utility"
and the off-topic posts (especially staff/admin setting precedent by posting such)
are a distraction for anyone who clicked to find out what's new with the flameshot program or its MX package.
criticism (mine, to richb via PM) is that this "offtopic-bent" seems to be happening increasingly often.

Re: MX 17 Repository: Flameshot Thread
OT
As Shutter, you can move/edit already placed annotations, also has auto numeration tool, but is more flexible with colors etc.
Not pulling bunch of gnome stuff is a big plus.
This one just may become my favorite, thanks!
