GIO contains the API for the gnome VFS (virtual file system) which is what most gtk based file managers use for mounting and unmounting devices, including network shares.
lenovo ThinkPad T530 - MX-18
lenovo s21e - MX-18, antiX-17.3.1 (live-USB)
FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

I agree with Fehlix that network support (libreoffice-gnome) should be installed by default with LO on MX, or at least a sticky post.
I´ve been blaming at LO for about a week because i couldn´t open files on windows shares at job.
At home i am not aware of the problem because i don´t have nor need windows shares there, but at job there is not usually time to forum-searching
This morning i came to the mx forum and and found this french thread and could glimpse something about libreoffice-gnome so i Installed it.
By the way, AskLibreoffce has not been very useful to me.
